Remo Stars Stay Top as NPFL Matchday 34 Delivers Drama and Goals

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 34 produced a weekend of thrilling action, high-scoring affairs, and pivotal results that continue to shape the race for the title and survival.

The weekend kicked off with an emphatic performance from Katsina United, who overwhelmed Abia Warriors 5–1, showcasing attacking flair and clinical finishing. Enyimba edged out rivals Kano Pillars 2–1 in a tightly contested match in Aba, while Rangers International pulled off a statement victory on the road, defeating Lobi Stars 4–2 in one of the weekend’s standout performances.

Sunday’s fixtures were equally intense. Remo Stars solidified their position at the top of the NPFL standings with a narrow but crucial 1–0 away win over Shooting Stars, reaffirming their title credentials. Elsewhere, Rivers United continued their push for continental qualification with a 1–0 home win against Sunshine Stars.

In Jos, Plateau United edged Akwa United 1–0, while Heartland and Kwara United played out a goalless draw. The shared spoils theme continued as Bendel Insurance and Nasarawa United finished 1–1, along with El-Kanemi Warriors vs. Ikorodu City, and Niger Tornadoes vs. Bayelsa United, both ending 1–1.
