FIFA Auditors Commence 2025 Central Review of Ghana FA

Auditors appointed by FIFA have officially begun the 2025 Central Review (Audit) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), marking a key compliance exercise for Ghanaian football administration.

The audit forms part of FIFA’s routine financial oversight of its Member Associations worldwide. It focuses on reviewing financial records, governance structures, and the utilization of funds — including development grants received under FIFA support programs — for the 2025 financial year.

According to the GFA, the visiting audit team will examine submitted financial reports, assess internal controls, and verify that allocated funds have been used in line with FIFA regulations and global best practices. The exercise is expected to strengthen transparency and accountability within Ghana’s football ecosystem.

The Central Review plays a significant role in determining future eligibility for FIFA funding and development initiatives. Any major discrepancies could result in corrective measures or increased oversight, while a clean report would reinforce confidence in the association’s financial management systems.

GFA officials have pledged full cooperation with the auditors, describing the review as a standard but important process in maintaining credibility and integrity within the sport.

The outcome of the audit will be closely monitored by stakeholders, including clubs, players, and fans, as it could influence the trajectory of football development projects across Ghana.
