Hamilton Encouraged by Early Chemistry With Ferrari’s New F1 Car

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed optimism ahead of the new Formula One season, saying he already feels “connected” to Ferrari’s latest challenger following productive pre-season test sessions.

The British driver has spent months working closely with engineers at Scuderia Ferrari, both in simulator programmes and on track, as the Italian team prepares its new car for the upcoming Formula One campaign. Hamilton indicated that the extra preparation has allowed him to better understand the machine’s balance and handling traits, describing the experience as one of his most positive technical integrations in recent years.

Initial running included shakedown laps at Ferrari’s private Fiorano Circuit facility before the team joined rivals for official testing in Bahrain. Engineers focused on long-run consistency, tyre behaviour, and aerodynamic stability — key areas Ferrari hopes will strengthen its competitiveness this season.

Hamilton noted that he has played an active role in refining car setup and development direction, suggesting that his input has helped shape certain performance characteristics. The early signs, he said, point to a stronger synergy between driver and car compared with previous campaigns.

While testing times are rarely a reliable indicator of race-day form, the positive feedback provides encouragement for Ferrari as it aims to close the gap to championship rivals. For Hamilton, the sense of familiarity with the new car could prove crucial once the season begins, where confidence and adaptability often determine whether early promise translates into podium finishes.
