Remo Stars have etched their name in Nigerian football history, claiming their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title with a dramatic 1–0 win over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The title-clinching goal came in the 84th minute through Olamilekan Adedayo, whose strike sent the home crowd into euphoric celebration. With the victory, the Sky Blue Stars sealed an unassailable lead in the NPFL standings, crowning a season of remarkable consistency and tactical brilliance.
This landmark victory is especially significant as it makes Remo Stars the first club from Nigeria’s southwest region to lift the NPFL title since Julius Berger FC’s triumph in 2000. Furthermore, they are the first privately-owned team to win the league since Ocean Boys of Bayelsa in 2006 — a moment that signals a shift in the power dynamics of Nigerian club football.
Under the astute leadership of head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, Remo Stars have built a formidable squad that blends youth with experience. The team's disciplined approach, effective game management, and resilience under pressure have defined their 2024/25 campaign.
Their historic run has not only inspired fans in Ikenne and beyond but also underscored the rising competitiveness and professional standards in the NPFL.
As the curtains fall on the season, Remo Stars’ triumph serves as a shining example of what can be achieved with vision, structure, and belief. The sky, indeed, appears to be just the beginning for the Sky Blue Stars.
